T.S Eliot wrote that each cat has two names. One known only to itself.

L- P- simply has two names. A forename and a surname.

L-P defies my ‘no animals on the bed’ policy within first hour of entering the house. Lack of enforcement ends policy forthwith.

Our friends are travelling to America for a month.

Last time they put her in a boarding cattery and she came back all mangy and sad.

She’d given up cleaning herself.

I got a call from my friend asking if we might… whether it was in the realm of possibility… to look after their cat while they were away?

I said yes so fast he sounded disappointed that he hadn’t had the chance to extoll her many virtues.

So I indulged him.

  • She’s a good traveller - lived in NZ and several UK houses

  • Almost TOO good a cat with kids. As in, so chill that the kids get a false sense of confidence about how to behave around cats and get their faces slashed by the next one they bullrush.

  • Emanates good vibes.

  • A snuggler

  • But not clingy

And so it has proved.
