I disappear down the Royal Mail rabbit hole when they raise the price of postage.
A while ago I bought a bunch of £2.20 stamps so I could send letters and postcards internationally.
It can’t have been that long ago because they’ve got King Charles III on them.
Then I began to get a steady stream of mail returned to me for insufficient postage. I looked into it and found that the price had been raised to £2.50.
Easy, I thought, I’ll buy some 30p stamps.
Not so fast. They only sell 20p and 10p stamps so I bought some sheets of those.
Strangely, they all feature Elizabeth II, as she was on the day of her coronation in 1953.
The cashier tells me that they’re waiting with bated breath on CRIII 20p and 10p stamps. But they keep getting sent fresh batches of ERIIs.
The next judder bar is the size of the danged things.
