Ideas man.
A conversation with my creative counsellor.
How many ideas did you have this week?
Two.
And how many did you make happen?
None.
What were they?
Kids’ show: man and a woman, guitar, story, action songs, do-alongs, parachute, bubble machine. Doesn’t take much. For kids: 10 months to 5 years, £7.50 a session and £3.50 for each additional sibling, so averages out to £6 a pop. You’re doing, say, twenty kids a session, two sessions, £240 a morning, with minimal overheads. I’d use census data to figure out where’s closest to the largest population of families with kids that age.Two shows on a Friday morning. Maybe do it Thursday, my daddy day, so it’s paid babysitting. In fact, once it’s up and running I get it performed by parents from my artists with kids whatsapp group. They’re all unemployed.
OK. What’s the other one?
Guided poetry meditation. You get a sonnet, cover up the lines, look at the shape of it, then reveal the end words. Hear and feel the rhyme structure, unknowing everything, then read it for the sense blocks, like an image or sentence, unknowing everything, wondering everything. 15 minutes, wonderful start to the day, wonderful way to encounter poetry.
Did you do either of them?
No.
Why not?
Because I just came up with a third idea. An internet handle called Ideas Man, where I post all my ideas to get them out of my system.

Loved this! It is ike the inside of my mind xx
